Somehow, it’s you- It will always be you

I’ve started this a few times because everything I write sounds too polished. Too pretty. And what I feel for Jeremy isn’t polished.

It’s fucking real.

I love this man in a way that has changed something in me.

Not because he came riding in and magically fixed my life. He didn’t. He just came into it, stood beside me, and kept showing up. Again and again. In all the little ways that probably don’t look like much to anyone else but mean absolutely everything to me.

He takes care of me without making me feel like I need taking care of.

He listens to me when I’m excited about something completely ridiculous. He lets me vent when I’m pissed off. He celebrates my wins like they’re his own. He reminds me what I’m capable of when I forget. He deals with my moods, my overthinking, my stubbornness, my chaos, and the approximately 47 unfinished thoughts I’m trying to tell him at the same time.

And somehow the poor bastard still likes me.

That’s love.

But it’s more than what Jeremy does for me.

It’s who I get to be with him.

I don’t have to shrink myself.

I don’t have to carefully choose my words.

I don’t have to wonder where I stand.

I can be loud. Weird. Emotional. Ambitious. Exhausted. Completely inappropriate.

Occasionally absolutely unreasonable.

I can just be me.

And he loves me there.

There’s a peace in that I don’t know if I’ll ever be able to properly explain.

Sometimes I look around at this life we’re building and think, Holy shit. This is actually mine.

The ordinary nights. The stupid jokes. The projects. The adventures. The laughing until we can’t breathe. The conversations about absolutely nothing. The quiet moments when we’re sitting together doing our own thing and I realize there is nowhere else I would rather be.

That’s the shit I want.

Not perfect.

Not some bullshit highlight reel.

This.

Us.

Jeremy has taught me that love doesn’t always have to be complicated to be deep. Sometimes it’s someone remembering the little things. Fixing something because they know it’s driving you fucking insane. Reaching for you without thinking. Making you laugh when you’re trying desperately to stay mad.

Sometimes love is simply knowing somebody has your back.

And I have his.

Always.

I hope Jeremy knows how grateful I am for him. Not just for everything he does, but for the man he is.

I hope he knows that when I picture my future, he’s there.

Probably building something.

I’m probably standing nearby offering completely unnecessary supervision and telling him how I saw someone do it on TikTok.

He’s probably ignoring me. As he fucking should.

But we’re together.

And honestly, that’s all I need.

I love you, Jeremy.

For the big things.

For the tiny things.

For the things you probably don’t even realize you do.

For making me laugh.

For letting me be completely, unapologetically myself.

For choosing me.

And for giving me a love that doesn’t feel like something I have to chase.

It just feels like home.

You’re my person. My peace. My favorite pain in the ass.

And if I have my way, you’re stuck with me for a very, very long time.
